Best Life Counselling

Sheep river waterfall at sunset with sun

Welcome

Thank you for taking this step to learn about what counselling is about and how it can be beneficial towards living your best life. I believe we all live our best life when it’s with authenticity to ourselves, congruent with our values, knowing our strengths and vulnerabilities, rediscovery of our resiliencies and building new resilience to navigate life’s challenges and struggles.  You are the expert on your life and experiences.  Counselling supports and provides tools, strategies, and techniques to enhance coping skills, improve relationships and live a healthier life.

“Life is as complex as we are.  Sometimes our vulnerability is our strength, our fear develops our courage, and our woundedness is the road to our integrity.  It is not an either/or world.”

Meet Your Counsellor

My approach to counselling is based on a simple belief: everyone deserves to live their best life.

What that means will look different for everyone. But in general, it includes connecting with your authentic self, creating thriving relationships, and approaching each day as a new opportunity to grow — no matter what ups and downs life may have in store.

As a counsellor, my role is to help you develop the tools to bring these goals within reach. My approach to care is person-centered and trauma-informed, drawing on a range of research-backed tools like CBT, EMDR, and more. Together, we’ll create a safe, empathetic, judgment-free space to explore and experiment with what works best for you.

Kiran Randhawa,

MSW (Clinical Specialization), RSW

I’ve developed my therapeutic “toolbox” over 25 years as a social worker at several of Calgary’s not-for-profit institutions including the Distress Centre, Catholic Family Services (Alexandra Community Health Medical Clinic), Family Services Employee Assistance Program, AHS outpatient clinics, and the Grief Support Program at the Bob Glasgow Grief Support Centre.

After a quarter of a century serving the public, I felt the call to grow and expand the ways I can help people. So, I decided to open a private practice, in addition to my public practice work, as a way to offer more options for the kind of care I’m most passionate about. At the moment, my main focus is working with clients one on one. As my private practice expands, I look forward to offering group counselling options.

I’m welcoming new clients, whether you’re totally new to counselling or are looking for a new provider to continue your care.  If it sounds like we might be a good fit, let’s connect and explore the possibilities for helping you live your best life.

“We’re all just walking each other home.”

COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATION

Call or email me to set up our initial complimentary 20-minute consultation.  This consultation is brief and allows us to connect and determine whether we’re a good fit and it’s an opportunity to ask any additional questions you may have.

(No charge)

INITIAL ASSESSMENT SESSION

Once we’ve determined we’re a good fit, the next step is booking into one of the appt times for an initial assessment session.  I will ask that you complete some forms to start the counselling process.  We will take some time to discuss and explore your needs and goals for the concerns you wish to work on.  This is an important time where we get to know one another and start to build our therapeutic relationship.  The focus is on getting to know you, your goal/s for working together, and identifying the next steps for the counselling plan.

*Payment is due at the end of the session, by e-transfer, cash, or cheque.
